X Libris

Saw the X Libris show at the Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art this afternoon. Just going to book art shows like this makes me want to go home and work on something. All inspiring and lovely work. Almost breezed past Molly Springfield's work, A Translation because it looked like a photocopy and nothing more. When you look up close and at certain angles you realize that it's all hand–drawn. Absolutely incredible! Everything, and I mean everything, is hand–rendered. The text, the images, even the black that appears on the pages and around the book from the copier. I recommend you go check this show out before this Thursday, October 15 when the show closes.

The top two images are of Harriet Bart in her studio and of her work. She was the gallery attendant when Bo and I went to see the show. We talked to her for a while and got a better understanding of the show and her work.
